Biography:
Right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod has signed with the Windy City ThunderBolts after beginning the 2009 season in the San Diego Padres organization. Dylan appeared in 11 games for the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League this season, with a 4.50 ERA and six strikeouts in 12 innings. Dylan split the 2009 season between Lake Elsinore and the Fort Wayne Wizards of the Midwest League, combining for a 3-2 record and 4.70 ERA with 80 strikeouts against only 26 walks in 76.2 innings. Dylan made his professional debut in 2007, seeing time with the Arizona League Padres and Fort Wayne, posting a 2-3 record with two saves and a 2.73 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 33 innings.
Dylan was a 30th round draft pick by San Diego out of the University of California-Irvine in 2007. He led the Anteaters to the College World Series during his senior season with a 6-4 record, four saves, and a 3.96 ERA in 34 games, striking out 79 batters in 72.2 innings. |
