 CLICK HERE FOR THUNDERBOLTS 2016 SCHEDULE The Windy City ThunderBolts are pleased to announce their 2016 Frontier League Schedule. This will be the 24th year for the Frontier League and the ThunderBolts' 18th season in the circuit. NEW DIVISIONS With the departure of the Rockford Aviators and Frontier Greys, the Frontier League will be at 12-teams for the first time since the 2011 season. The divisions have been realigned from East and West to the North Division and South Division. The ThunderBolts are now in the North Division and will play divisional opponents 12 times and the South Division opponents 6 times. With no travel club in the mix the ThunderBolts will be back to having 48 home games in 2016. THUNDERBOLTS SCHEDULE The ThunderBolts will start the season at home for the third consecutive year when they take on the Joliet Slammers, Thursday, May 12th. It is the 11th time in 13 years that Windy City will open the season at Standard Bank Stadium. Opening Night will be the only home game before the Bolts hit the road to Florence the next day. The ThunderBolts have a heavy May again, as 12 of their first 18 games are at Standard Bank Stadium. The ThunderBolts will have two 9-game homestands for the first time since the 2010 season. For the ninth time in the last 13 years, the ThunderBolts will finish the season on the road, this time in Schaumburg against the Boomers. The 2016 schedule will feature an all-time high eight weekday morning games: four School Day Games on May 17th, 18th, 25th and 26th, a dry game on June 27th, and finally three straight Big Splash Days July 18th-20th (all game times are at 10:35 am). Game times will not change from last season, Monday – Friday games start at 7:05 pm, Saturdays start at 6:05 pm and Sundays will have two different times with 2:05 pm for May/June and 5:05 pm for July/August. The only exceptions are the eight 10:35 am weekday kid’s days and all weekday fireworks nights start at 6:05 pm (Thursday, May 12th and Wednesday, June 22nd). The ThunderBolts’ weekly promotions will be finalized and announced very soon. Our full promotional schedule with giveaways and special theme nights will be announced at a later time. The Windy City ThunderBolts open their 2016 season at Standard Bank Stadium on Thursday, May 12th against the Joliet Slammers at 6:05 pm with $1.25 beer and a post-game fireworks show!
