Bolts scorch Washington 10-4

WASHINGTON, PA- The Windy City ThunderBolts defeated the Washington Wild Things 10-4 Saturday evening at Wild Things Park. 

 

A collection of hit batsmen, walks, and timely hitting contributed to the ThunderBolts win Saturday night. 

 

Micah Yonamine gave Windy City (42-51) the first run of the ball game with an RBI single in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 Windy City lead.

 

Washington (47-48) knotted the game at 1-1 when Anthony Brocato hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. Andrew Czech hit a three-run homer, collecting a four-run first for the Wild Things and a 4-1 lead.

 

Following a walk allowing a run, Yonamine cleared the bases with two outs in the top of the second inning doubling to deep centerfield, putting the Bolts back on top 5-4. 

 

Junior Martina led off the top of the third inning with a single. Washington proceeded to walk one and hit three batsmen, handing Windy City a 7-4 lead. Following a walk and error leading to two more runs, Paul Coumoulos knocked an RBI  single and Peyton Isaacson gave the Bolts a 10-4 lead until the ninth inning.

 

Taylor Sugg (5-8) tossed six innings for the Bolts surrendering four earned runs on four hits while walking two and striking out fIve.

 

Sebastian Selway, Tyler Laporte, and Justin Miller threw scoreless frames out of the bullpen for the Bolts.

 

Windy City collected hits in the lineup from seven of nine starters in the victory.
