Y’alls Run Back 8-4 Score on Bolts

FLORENCE, KY – The Windy City ThunderBolts lost a second straight game to the Florence Y’alls with the same final score as game one, 8-4. The Y’alls (30-16) pulled away with seven unanswered runs.

The Bolts (17-28) opened the scoring in the second inning. Rob Weissheier doubled and Zac Taylor singled to put runners at the corners. Jack Strunc bounced into a double play to bring in Weissheier.

Then the Florence run began. In the third, the Y’alls scored four times. Connor Crane pulled an RBI double to left, Connor Perry drove in two with a single and Joe Lytle grounded home a run. In the fourth, Florence plated three more, with Perry driving in two on a double.

Down 7-1, the Bolts clawed away with single runs in three straight innings. In the fifth, Rob Calabrese collected an RBI single. Jack Strunc produced a run-scoring single in the sixth. The Bolts used a fielding error to make it 7-4 in the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh, Lytle thwarted the comeback with a solo homer to left.

Miguel Ausua (4-2) suffered the loss for the Bolts, giving up seven runs in 3.2 innings. Jonathan Tripp (3-0) remained undefeated with the win, throwing 5.2 innings, yielding three runs with nine strikeouts.
