ThunderBolts and Slammers Suspended

Play Suspended

CRESTWOOD, IL - The ThunderBolts had a 4-0 lead on the Joliet Slammers when rain interrupted play Thursday night at Standard Bank Stadium. The game will be resumed in the fourth inning as part of a doubleheader on August 22.

The ThunderBolts got off to a hot start, scoring four runs on six hits in the first inning. They opened the game with five straight singles with RBIs coming from Riley Krane and Larry Balkwill. Zack Jones came up with another RBI base hit with two outs in the inning.

The score remained 4-0 into the fourth when Melvin Rodriguez hit a leadoff single for the Slammers. Immediately afterward, play was halted. The game will pick up with a runner at first and nobody out in the top of the fourth inning.
