Biography:

Joe Johnson enters his third professional season and first with the ThunderBolts in 2024. He signed with the Bolts on March 2, 2024. His pro career began in 2022, playing for current ThunderBolts manager Bobby Jenks with the Grand Junction Rockies. He stayed in Grand Junction, playing for the Jackalopes in 2023. Over two years there, he amassed a .351 batting average, 32 homers and 147 RBIs. He was named a Pioneer League Postseason All-Star as the league's top first baseman in 2023, when he had a .456 on-base percentage and drove in 106 runs. He also appeared in four games for the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association in 2022.

Johnson played collegiately at NAIA Vanguard University and was a career .304 hitter with a .537 slugging percentage over five years. As a senior in 2022, he hit 16 homers and drove in 65 runs over 59 games. Prior to Vanguard, Joe attended St. Mary's School in Medford, Oregon.
