Biography:

John Mikolaicyk is in his first professional season with the ThunderBolts in 2024. He signed as a free agent on February 29, 2024 after completing a three-year college career at Hofstra University. In all, he went 2-11 for the Pride with a 6.89 ERA in 37 games (15 starts). As a senior in 2023, he set career-bests with 47.1 innings, 43 strikeouts and a 6.46 ERA. After graduating, he posted a 5.87 ERA over nine games (eight starts) for the Williamsport Crosscutters of the MLB Draft League.

Prior to Hofstra, John spent one year at the Rochester Institute of Technology for whom he had a 2-3 record and 7.02 ERA. He transferred to Herkimer Community College in 2020 but did not appear in a game as the season was canceled due to Covid-19. He went to Oneonta High School in Oneonta, New York.
