Biography:
Derrick Edington is in his third season as a professional and second with the ThunderBolts in 2024. He was selected with the second overall pick in the 2023 Frontier League draft and signed on April 28, 2023. In his debut season with the Bolts, he won four games, saved five more and posted a 1.64 ERA. His pro career began with the Eastside Diamond Hoppers of the United Shore League in 2022, when he went 6-4 with a 3.26 ERA over 15 games (ten starts). He struck out 76 batters in 66.1 innings.
Derrick attended Davenport University and pitched in 25 games (19 starts) over two years. He amassed six wins and a 6.21 ERA. As a senior in 2022, he had a 5.68 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 71.1 innings. His first two years of college were spent at Kellogg Community College, where he won nine games and posted a 2.64 ERA as a sophomore. He went to Pickford High School in Pickford, Michigan. |
