Biography:

Taylor Sugg begins his second year with the ThunderBolts and fifth as a professional in 2024. He was acquired in a trade for outfielder Jairus Richards on November 29, 2022. In his first season with the Bolts, he started 18 games and went 5-8 with a 5.50 ERA in his first professional season as a starter.

The ThunderBolts are Sugg's fourth Frontier League team. His career began with the River City Rascals in 2019, when he posted a 2.65 ERA in 13 games for the Frontier League champions. He led Lake Erie relievers with 65 innings pitched in 2021 before moving to Gateway in 2022 and finishing with a 6.00 ERA in 25 games (three starts),

He attended the University of North Carolina and pitched there for three years. Overall, he appeared in 43 games (12 starts) and went 3-2 with a 3.57 ERA. In his best season, as a sophomore, he posted a 1.95 ERA. Taylor attended Southern Guilford High School in Greensboro, North Carolina.
