Garrett Christman is in his third year with the ThunderBolts and sixth as a professional in 2023. He signed with the Bolts on August 13, 2021. After pitching seven games (two starts) for Windy City in 2021, he led the team in starts (19) and innings pitched (117.1) in 2022. He also spent time with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association for the first half of the 2021 campaign. Prior to that, he was a two-year member of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore League. In 2020, he was named the USPBL Pitcher of the Year, when he posted a 2.00 ERA in 11 appearances during a pandemic-shortened season. His pro career began in 2018 with the San Francisco Giants. He had a 5.68 ERA in 12 relief appearances in rookie ball. He was originally drafted in the 37th round by the Giants in 2014 but didn't sign.
Christman attended Butler University, where he was a two-way player. In two seasons on the mound, he went 7-8 with a 3.09 ERA over 24 appearances (20 starts). In four years as a hitter, he batted .276 with 93 RBIs. Before Butler, he went to Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Indiana.
