Dominick Dominates Beach Bums in Debut, 8-2

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- Behind a sterling professional debut from starter Adam Dominick, the Windy City ThunderBolts (10-14) defeated the Traverse City Beach Bums (16-8), 8-2, on Sunday evening at Wuerfel Park.

The victory clinched a series win for the ThunderBolts on the home turf of the best team in the Frontier League.
<p>
Dominick (1-0) retired the first 12 batters that he faced in his first start after finishing up a college career with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  He worked seven innings in all, allowing five hits and two runs while walking one and striking out six batters.
<p>
Third baseman Josh Horn provided all of the offense Windy City would need, capping off a four-run first inning rally with a three-run homer off of Traverse City starter J.T. King (2-3).
<p>
Second baseman Gilberto Mejia added three hits and three runs to pace the 'Bolts' offense.  Mejia also contributed two stolen bases, increasing his league-leading total to 14 thefts.
<p>
The ThunderBolts' nine-game roadtrip continues with a three-game series against the Southern Illinois Miners.  Stephen Flake (2-1, 3.33) will start the opener at 7:05 p.m. on Monday night.
